What is this project?

A landing page for Royal Luxury Hotels, a palatial heritage property in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. The page needed to capture the grandeur of a royal Indian hotel experience — driving direct bookings while communicating the property's unique positioning at the intersection of heritage and modern luxury.

💡

The problem it solved: Heritage hotels in India typically lose direct bookings to OTA platforms (Booking.com, MakeMyTrip) because their own websites feel outdated and untrustworthy by comparison. The client needed a website that felt as premium as the property itself — one that gave guests a reason to book direct rather than through a platform.

Design approach

A gold-toned, editorial design system rooted in the aesthetic language of Indian heritage architecture. The page opens with a full-bleed palace photograph and an inline booking widget — removing the friction of clicking through to a booking page. Scrolling reveals curated facility imagery, room showcases, spa sections, and experience galleries.

Key choices

01

Booking widget in the hero — not on a separate page

Placing the Check In / Check Out / Room & Guests booking widget directly over the hero photograph eliminates the most common drop-off point in hotel booking flows: the click from homepage to booking page. Every hotel booking starts with date selection — so start there.

02

Gold serif typography as a design language

The use of decorative gold script headings ('Embark on a Timeless Journey') alongside clean modern body type creates a visual contrast that mirrors the hotel's own positioning: ancient heritage, modern comfort. The typography itself tells the brand story.

03

Arched image frames as architectural reference

Room and spa images are presented in arch-shaped frames — a direct visual reference to the Mughal and Rajput architectural details of the property itself. The design borrows the architecture's visual vocabulary without literally photographing it.

04

Direct booking incentive section

A dedicated 'Easy to Book — Secure Exclusive Benefits By Booking Directly On Our Website' section with a Book Now CTA addresses the OTA problem head-on. It gives guests a tangible reason (exclusive discounts) to choose the property's own channel over a platform.
